About\\

We've readily admitted in the past that despite our love for this pairing, it was grasping at straws. But as of July 19, 2005 the pairing is indeed a reality. Here is a brief history.

Kay Bennett has lived in the small New England town of Harmony for her entire life. As a child she had a best friend in the form of Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald. The two were inseperable, you could not find one without finding the other. They hung out, played softball together. For Miguel, Kay was one of the guys. As they grew older almost everyone naturally asumed that something more would blossom between the two. By the time she was a teenager, Kay found herself in love with her best friend. Yet, Miguel saw her as his tom boy best friend. Things changed dramatically when a perky blonde named Charity came to town. Miguel fell head over heels for the girl who turned out to be Kay's long lost cousin. Kay tried and tried, and then tried some more, to get Miguel to see her as something other than his best friend. None of it worked though, Miguel was completely devoted to Charity. Kay's plans (Okay, we'll call them what they were - schemes) to get Miguel as her own became more and more elaborate and included things that would put her cousin in great harm. At one point Kay was able to get her cousin's essence (Hey, this is Passions!) and convinced Miguel to make love to her. Miguel believed he was making love to his sainted Charity while Kay was having the time of her life. Things turned sour, however, when Miguel relized his mistake and still did not reciprocate Kay's feelings. Months passed with Charity nearly dying, receiving a heart transplant and getting engaged to Miguel. On Charity and Miguel's wedding day Kay, serving as a bride's maid, fainted at the alter. Dr. Russell confirmed that Kay was indeed pregnant and when her father Sam threatened to kill the boy that got her in that position Kay blurted out that it was Miguel. The wedding came to a screeching halt and everyone doted on Charity. Kay went through her pregnancy virtually alone and ran away from the Bennett house to escape her mother Grace. Kay lived with the witch next door Tabitha Lennox and remained there even after the birth of her daughter, Maria. Charity soon left town and not long after Miguel followed after her, leaving Kay to raise their daughter.

Nicholas Foxworth Crane was not brought up in Harmony. The wealthy Crane family's youngest son was raised in bording schools and returned to Harmony only a few years earlier. Upon his arrival he befriended Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald, who was in love with his older brother Ethan Winthrop. Since it was discovered that Ethan was actually Sam Bennett's son Fox had come home to claim what he believed was rightfully his as the Crane heir. Fox had another thing coming to him, though. His grandfather Alistair did not hand things over to him and Fox soon went to work for Crane Industries. As he spent more time in Harmony he found himself falling for Theresa's best friend Whitney Russell. Whitney, however, was in love with Fox's best friend Chad. Fox tried to get Whitney to fall in love with him but it didn't work, he couldn't get her mind off of Chad. For a bit Fox dated Theresa but still held out hope for Whitney. Soon it was discovered that Chad was actually the son of Julian Crane and Eve Russell, making him the brother of both Whitney and Fox. Making matters worse, Whitney found she was pregnant with Chad's baby. Not wanting to tell anyone Whitney tried to get Fox into bed so he would believe he was the baby's father.

Where does this leave Kay and Fox? We honestly believe these two people are the perfect match. Kay never had the story she deserved when Miguel was around and how she's sitting around doing nothing. Fox was originally a character with edge. His love for Whitney caused him to lose his bite. He pined, he longed, he became boring. Neither character is innocent or entirely good. Some would say Kay is evil but that is entirely untrue. A person can do evil things and not be evil themselves. Everything Kay has done, and some of it is exceptionally bad, has been done to gain love. Her mother Grace has always placed others above Kay, first Jessica and later Charity. Kay has simply worked toward getting love, she simply tried with the wrong person. Fox also suffered from a lack of maternal love. He is also considered the black sheep of the family, the one that gets in trouble, the one that cannot seem to live up to expectations. These two have just enough in common and just enough differences that would make them completely fascinating to watch. They've both lied, schemed and manipulated to get what they want. Whether they were to share a deep love affair or simply a friendship, with their personalities it would never be boring. They'd certainly keep each other on their toes.

Their first meeting certainly proved that they have a certain kind of spark and chemistry. Kay was feeling bad about the problems currently plaguing her family. Since much of it was Fancy Crane's fault Kay decided to blame Fox since he too was a Crane. She threw rocks at him, they argued, she punched him, she tripped and landed on him. They then ended up falling off of the dock and into the water and were nearly attacked by a shark. Fox saved Kay and the two seemed to be getting along better but the insults were soon flying again. This is the stuff classic daytime pairings are made of. Wit, initial loathing (or annoyance) and passion.

The same night of their encounter of the dock at the wharf Harmony was hit with an earthquake followed by a tsunami. Throughout the entire ordeal Fox was there to protect Kay and keep her safe. The two became very close and not only shared their first kiss but also made love.
